Skims Outdoor

Comfortable clothing has been the silver lining of the pandemic. As we start to get out a bit more, that’s been difficult to leave behind. But, we still want to look presentable. Myself, I have felt the need to replace many aging parts of my wardrobe as we come out of this cocoon.

Skims Outdoor

In this vein, as I was looking around for some fresh new undies, I saw that SKIMS was coming out with an outdoor collection of sweats and coordinated shirts, apparently for hiking.

Comfortable clothing in a trendy fit and color? Sign me up!  Especially as it has been on the colder side here lately, I decided to try out the sweatpants and coordinating tops. Although I normally wouldn’t drop this dough for sweatpants, the cut and color looked promising. I could see myself wearing a SKIMS Outdoor outfit out and about in perfect comfort, while still looking good. Imagine wearing sweats and looking nice. I actually got excited about this. 😂

Let's try this ...

I tried both Soot, a faded black, and Pacific, which is basically grey. I do love both colors, though honestly I have tended more to wear the Soot since I got them. The cut is definitely more flattering than for most sweats. The faded, monochromatic colors are definitely more fashionable as well. It feels great to be able to just pop on some sweats, style myself as normal, and head out on errands knowing that in my comfort I still look good!

Find what makes you feel comfortable. The confidence you wear your clothes in is what’s really going to shine.

I found the sweatpants to be pretty true to size. The tops felt slightly small, so I ended up sizing up on those. I also ended up trying the sweat shorts, but these ran very small! I ended up trying the shorts two sizes bigger, and they fit, but were still tight on my thighs. So, the sweat shorts are probably better for those with thinner thighs (and/or I’d recommend sizing up). Neither the pants nor shorts have pockets, which is slightly annoying. But, they are soft and comfortable, so overall I’d give them a win.

So far, I’ve worn my SKIMS outdoor outfits on errands, on relaxed work days when I’m remote, and on chilly mornings around the house. I’m considering donning them on long flights later in the year (airplanes are cold, and I love an excuse to wear comfy pants), as well as some hiking when the spring comes around.

Have you tried them? What did you think?
